Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Fort Worth TX 1117 AM CDT Fri Oct 3 2025

...New Short Term, Long Term, Aviation...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Above normal temperatures will persist into early next week with little chance for rainfall.

- A weak cold front may approach our region towards the middle of next week which could result in low rain chances (20%) by Tuesday.

&&

.SHORT TERM... /NEW/ /Through Saturday Night/

Overall, expect a fairly quiet weather day across North and Central Texas as we remain wedged between an area of high pressure in West Texas and a low spinning off the coast of Louisiana. Temperatures today will climb into the upper 80s to lower 90s with easterly to southeasterly winds.

With slightly better moisture across Central Texas, the passing of a subtle ripple may lead to a few showers across Central Texas this afternoon. Any precipitation that falls will be short-lived and isolated.

Tomorrow`s temperatures will be 1-2 degrees cooler compared to today with no precipitation expected. Winds will remain out of the east/southeast between 5-10 mph with gusts closer to 15 mph.

.LONG TERM... /NEW/ /Sunday Onward/

The aforementioned area of low pressure off the coast of Louisiana will be absorbed into the main westerly flow on Sunday. This will allow for the area of high pressure currently in the Southeastern US to expand to the west. As the high expands, troughing will increase across the western US and slowly advance eastward the first half of next week. There continues to be a potential for a cold front to push southward across our region on Tuesday which may lead to a few showers and storms. The latest guidance continues to keep rain chances at around 20% for much of the region. The low rain chances will continue into Wednesday as a weak disturbance moves overhead. Similarly, rain chance will remain capped at 20% with coverage expected to be low.

With slightly higher cloud cover during the middle of the week, expect afternoon highs to be in the mid 80s with overnight temperatures in the 60s.

No significant weather is expected at any of the North or Central Texas TAF sites. East to southeasterly winds will persist AOB 10 kts with afternoon cumulus clouds. Although a few showers may develop in Central Texas, they should remain outside of KACT`s vicinity.

Cumulus clouds will dissipate this evening with continued southeasterly breezes through the night.
