.SHORT TERM... (Today and tonight) Issued at 150 AM CDT Fri Oct 3 2025

Little change is expected in our weather today. Clear skies will continue, as an upper level ridge remains over our area with associated subsidence and drier air in place. Temperatures will be about the same as yesterday, with highs this afternoon mostly in the 90 to 95 degree range. These highs are 5-10 degrees above normal for early October. Generally light winds this morning will become mostly southeast at 6-10 mph this afternoon. Winds tonight will be from the southeast to south, at 5-10 mph in the Big Country and 4-7 mph in the Concho Valley. Winds will become light tonight across our southern and Heartland (east-central) counties. Expect overnight lows to be mostly in the lower 60s in our southern and Heartland counties, in the mid 60s in the Concho Valley, and mid to upper 60s in the Big Country.

.LONG TERM... (Saturday through Thursday) Issued at 1251 AM CDT Fri Oct 3 2025

Upper level high pressure will remain largely in control through this weekend and into the beginning of next week. This will result in near to above normal temperatures as we head into the first full week of October. Highs Friday through Monday will generally be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Models are hinting at a weak frontal passage/wind shift around Wednesday of next week. This would result in slightly cooler temperatures- mid to upper 80s- along with a slight chance of isolated showers. Otherwise, warm and dry conditions will continue through the long term.
