.DISCUSSION...

Today will be another cool, fall-like day, with light easterly breezes giving way to afternoon gusts around 15 mph. Tonight, Sierra valleys will realize overnight lows that once again dip below freezing. This cool weather pattern is about to shift slightly to a warmer trend this week.

Starting Tuesday, we see a minor ridge develop over the west, which will bring about a warmer airmass to the region. By Wednesday, leeside valleys will see high temperatures well into the mid to upper 70s, with areas such as Hawthorne flirting with the low 80s. This pattern is short-lived, and after midweek the guidance becomes clear as mud.

For late week, guidance is resolving a low dropping along the Pacific coast. Beyond that, there is little agreement as of now regarding the depth of the trough, the placement of the center of circulation and it`s trajectory. This lets us know there is *something* out there, but the timing, placement and trajectory are all in question. For the time being, NBM blended guidance hints at a wetter pattern emerging, but there is discrepancy around the details for now. HRICH

.AVIATION...

* VFR conditions will prevail this afternoon and Monday afternoon. The only terminal that may see overnight fog develop is KTRK. Otherwise expect light easterly breezes with afternoon gusts to 15 kts. HRICH
