.SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Sunday Night) Issued at 1119 PM CDT Fri Sep 5 2025
A strong upper level low is set up over southern Ontario dropping a cold front south into Middle TN. As the trough digs early Saturday morning we will see the front stall out over the region with periods of showers and thunderstorms ahead of it. The thunderstorm activity will be elevated keeping the severe risk very low. The front will start to drop south just before daybreak and we will see a round of widespread rain with some embedded thunderstorms. The front along with the widespread activity will continue to move through the area during the morning hours. Instability will remain elevated keeping the severe risk near zero.
A few showers may linger over the Plateau into the afternoon, otherwise dry and quiet weather will start to settle in. Highs on Saturday will be much cooler only making it into the low to mid 70s. Quiet and pleasant weather can be expected for the second half of the weekend as high pressure builds in from the Plains. Sunday temperatures will warm some pushing back into the mid 70s to lower 80s for highs.

.AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 621 PM CDT Fri Sep 5 2025
Thunderstorms, some severe, will be in the BNA/MQY vicinity through 05Z as a cold front passes through the area. Brief cig/vsby impacts will occur at the terminals mostly from elevated storms trailing the cold front. The front will shift winds from WSW to NNW. CKV is already behind the front with no showers or storms expected. The showers and storms will reach SRB and CSV mainly 04Z-08Z.
After a break from the initial convection along the front, a disturbance will bring showers and isolated thunder later on, generally from 10Z-16Z. During this period, cigs/vsbys are expected to be mainly MVFR. After 16Z, mainly VFR as drier air arrive on NNW winds.
