.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1238 AM CDT Fri Sep 26 2025

Dry conditions were ongoing across the area early this Fri morning...with mostly calm conditions in place. Some patchy fog was noted...mainly in valleys and areas that saw rain in recent days. Expect this patchy fog to remain possible through just after sunrise. An upper shortwave extended from the OH River Valley region SW through AR...which will slowly break off the primary upper flow into a closed low east of AR. This will bring continued NRLY flow aloft to the region...with dry conditions expected for the next several days.

By later this weekend...upper ridging will develop just west of AR...which will attempt to shift east over portions of the state by earl next week. However...evolution of the upper closed low east of AR with approaching tropical activity in the Atlantic may strengthen this upper low over the ERN/SERN CONUS during the early to middle portion of next week. This looks to cause strengthening NRLY flow over the mid/lower MS River Valley region...and potentially keeping the bulk of the upper ridging west of AR. Temps will continue to gradually warm into the middle to latter half of next week...but mainly peak in the 80s for highs. Dry air will remain over the region as a result...and the forecast is expected to remain dry over the next week.
