.DISCUSSION... Issued at 108 PM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025
Tonight through Friday
A 500 mb ridge of high pressure will remain in control of the area`s weather through the upcoming work week. This ridge will provide dry weather and unseasonably warm temperatures (10 to 15 degrees above normal). High temperatures will primarily range from the upper 70s to mid-80s. There might be a small chance of showers just west and northwest of the area on Wednesday night. Other than that the Upper Midwest will remain dry.
Next Weekend
The 500 mb ridge slides just enough east that some shortwave troughs ejecting out of the western longwave trough may bring some rain chance to the area. High temperatures will range from mid-70s to mid-80s.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z TUESDAY/... Issued at 631 PM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025
With clear skies and a bit more near surface moisture around, could get some IFR/LIFR stratus/fog tonight. However, increasing winds off the surface would tend to work against this occurring, so think chances are low (30% or less). Additionally, in the Mississippi River valley, including PDC/ONA/LSE, this setup tends to manifest in stratus developing, if anything. Have gone with a FEW group during the more probable hours but do not anticipate moving to a definite ceiling mention at this time.
