.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1106 PM CDT Mon Oct 6 2025

High pressure continues to build into the state, resulting in a rather benign pattern for inland areas. Onshore flow will bring in moisture from the Gulf, which could trigger a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Gulf waters and for coastal areas during the afternoon sea breeze. A weak boundary will move in from the north later in the week, bringing drier and slightly cooler weather for the weekend.

Afternoon highs through mid-week will run above normal with temperatures in the low to mid 90s and overnight lows in the low to mid 70s. Following the passing of the weak frontal boundary, daytime highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s with overnight lows in the low to mid 60s.

.AVIATION... (12Z TAF Issuance) Issued at 624 AM CDT Tue Oct 7 2025

Generally VFR, with spots of patchy fog out and about, transiently impacting TAF sites but most significantly LBX. Have mentions at those sites for the first 2-3 hours, but should be VFR area-wide shortly after sunrise. Winds fairly light today - generally following the same pattern of the last few days, but perhaps more variable since we`ll struggle to rise much above 5 knots even in the afternoon. Iso SHRA/TSRA should be anticipated again, but hold off on even any PROB30s. If anywhere, would anticipate LBX/SGR/HOU would have slightly better odds than elsewhere.

.MARINE... Issued at 1106 PM CDT Mon Oct 6 2025

Light onshore flow and low seas will continue through Wednesday. An increase in the onshore winds, to around 15-20kt with higher gusts, will begin as early as Wednesday night and persist through Friday. This increase in winds will likely also increase wave heights to 4-6ft in the coastal waters, and an increase in water- levels in the Bays and immediate coast. There will continue to be a daily chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms through this week.
