.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1253 PM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Showers have now ended across South Texas with drier conditions in store. After last night/this mornings storms, we ended up with a widespread 1-3 inches and some isolated locations received up to 6+ inches. The frontal boundary is south of our region where it is expected to stall over Deep South Texas through Friday. A drier air mass will infiltrate across our CWA today into the weekend with PWATs dipping to around 1.0 inch or lower. By tomorrow afternoon, dewpoints are progged to dip below 70 degrees for most areas. As we start off a new week, expect weak ridging aloft to build as a mid-level high forms along the western Gulf. If the high establishes further south than expected, this may allow for some mid-level disturbances to track further south closer to our region, so adjustments to PoPs may be necessary for next week, but for now have decided to stick with the NBM with the drier air mass in place.
Highs today will range in the mid 80s along the coast to the low 90s inland. For the remainder of the period, highs will warm a few degrees to around 95 out west. Overnight lows will range in the mid 60s to the upper 70s along the coast.

.AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 553 PM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Mostly VFR expected at all terminals thhis TAF cycle, with the expection of MVFR/IFR patchy fog in the Brush Country. Confidence in this is low given the drier air above the boundary layer overnight, but the dewpoint depression at the surface will be lowest at locations that received rainfall over the last 24 hrs. Will re-evaulate for the 06Z TAF cycle if terminals need TEMPOs to account for this. Time frame for patchy fog will be from 10Z-14Z.
