.DISCUSSION... Issued at 302 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Some patchy fog may develop this morning, causing some reductions to visibility through mid-morning. The best chances for fog development will be along the Platte and Missouri rivers and other low-lying areas. Any fog should burn off by mid-morning. Patchy smoke moving in from the north may cause some hazy skies through the day.
An upper ridge over the Rockies will shift east over the Central Plains today and Friday. Dry conditions with highs ranging from the upper 70s to mid-80s are expected today and tomorrow. Another upper ridge moves in over the weekend, settling in through early next week. Highs will be in the upper 70s to mid-80s and lows will be in the 50s and 60s.
A shift in the pattern on Tuesday will bring southwest flow over the region and a shortwave trough into the Central High Plains. Dry conditions are expected to persist for now through the end of the forecast period.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z FRIDAY/... Issued at 1237 PM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
VFR conditions favored through the period with some passing clouds around 4000-6000 ft this afternoon. Winds will remain light and westerly to northwesterly this afternoon before becoming more southerly to southwesterly this evening. Some signs we could see fog development into Friday morning (10-20% chance), especially in river valley areas (including OMA), but winds aloft currently look strong enough to keep it pretty patchy.
