.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1030 PM EDT Fri Sep 19 2025

Weak surface ridging over the southeastern United States is generating light breezes across the Keys this evening. Earlier day time heating has backed these breezes northerly, but should veer northeasterly and strengthen slightly in the next few hours as the diurnal influence dissipates. Troughing will remain across the Gulf through the upper levels. However, increasingly drier air in the lower levels will filter southward across the Keys overnight. This along with anticyclonic flow in control at the surface should keep rain chances below seasonal norms. A few showers and even a thunderstorm cannot be completely ruled out as inhibition is expected to be slim and boundary layer moisture ample. Expect overnight lows to settle around the upper 70s with dew points lingering in the mid 70s.
