.DISCUSSION... Issued at 146 PM EDT Sun Sep 28 2025
No super significant weather expected through the seven day forecast, but we still have some weather. A few light rain showers across the mountains and potentially into the foothills later this afternoon per the CAM guidance. There`s not that much instability available today, with soundings keeping what little there is in the warmer lower atmosphere, so lightning is pretty low risk. Tonight patchy fog is once again a possibility, though likely not as extensive or as soupy as this morning.
Heading into the work week, moisture from the frontal zone and Tropical Depression Nine gets pulled back to the west where it will help spark a few showers, maybe a thunderstorm or two, with greater chances closest to North Carolina. No excessive amounts of rainfall are expected either day. As the week progresses, drier air will be advected down from the north thanks to the overall upper ridge position, and we`ll be in for the next bout of quiet true fall weather, especially as temperatures drop slightly by Friday.
