.SYNOPSIS... An upper level disturbance will lead to the potential for a few light rain showers today. High pressure and a drier airmass will build into the region through the first part of the upcoming week.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... Region is still dominated by the upper level trough, with the axis slowly pivoting east. As a result, showers in areas of NE KY and south central Ohio slowly depart by late afternoon, followed by gradual clearing of the mid/high clouds through the remainder of the area. Overnight lows remain unseasonably cool under NW flow in the mid/upper 40s outside of the urban areas, where lows will be near 50. Areas of fog expected especially in the river valleys where todays showers occurred.

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/... Surface high pressure returns to the region under continued upper level NW flow continuing the below normal. The airmass will also become increasingly drier. Highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s in the southeast, with Sunday night lows getting to within a few degrees of record lows in the mid to lower 40s.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/... High pressure will remain in place through the long term allowing for an extended stretch of dry weather. High temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s. PLenty of sunshine through the week along with relatively light winds.

.AVIATION /16Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... The upper trough axis will shift east through this evening, with mid/high clouds accompanying its eastward progression. CAA diurnal VFR cumulus following the departure of mid clouds will dissipate by 00z. High pressure will build in through the period, with some MVFR BR possible at KLUK in the 09-12z timeframe.
